History of Faith United Presbyterian Church

Faith United Presbyterian Church is a unique faith community born out of a merger of two churches. In 2011, Covenant Presbyterian Church and Ridgeview Presbyterian Church came together to form Faith United.

Both churches began because of the growing suburban expansion of the Dallas area during the 1950’s and 1960’s. Covenant church was organized in November 1955. They met in Farmers Branch Elementary School on Valley View Lane and later at Good Elementary School in North Carrollton. A new church facility was completed in 1958 on Josey Lane.

Ridgeview began on land already purchased by the Presbytery of Northeast Texas on Marsh Lane. The first worship service was held in July 1962. The permanent facility was dedicated in April 1965. This is the facility that now houses Faith United.

Both church had a rich history of reaching out into the community to share the love of Christ. This history continues in Faith United.
